Fraser

Fraser Kerley - Lead Guitar and Vocals

Fraser Kerley was a professional musician from 1970-80 then became a music teacher in the Sooke School District until he retired in 2013. During his time as a teacher, Fraser was always performing in local Victoria bands. These bands included a seven-piece show band (The Waybacks), a rock band (The Maxx) that performed at all of Victoria’s local bars and pubs, several six-piece R &B bands (Backstage Betty & Soul Sonics) that performed at Swans Brew Pub in Victoria.

For the last 10 years, Fraser played with the Blues Band (Blue Cadillac) that was regularly featured in the Victoria and Nanaimo Blues Festivals and Dragon Boat events. He has also played with several other jazz bands and pop bands.

Raman McArthur - Vocals and Guitar

Raman McArthur - Lead Vocals and Guitar

Raman McArthur has a similar background to Fraser. He performed as a featured vocalist in Kelowna and played with a number of popular bands there. When he was hired as a music teacher in the Sooke School District, he teamed up with Fraser to play in a very successful trio that performed all over the South Island. Raman's singing styles range from big-band jazz to rock and everything in between. Now he has reunited with Fraser to create a unique, engaging and new sound unlike any other group on the Island!

Dave Pretty - Rock Band drummer

Dave Pretty - Drums and Vocals

  Dave's father was an experienced jazz drummer who was active in the Victoria music scene during the 1950s-1970s. He taught Dave how to play the drums starting in about 1973. In his youth, Dave played in several rock bands. In the mid 1990's, Dave studied jazz drumming at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and at Malaspina University College. This led to his involvement with several jazz groups including Four, Pacific Standard Time, The Panorama Jazz Quartet, The Lindsay Barber Quartet, Groovin' Hard Big Band and jazz-fusion group Swingit.

Dave helped to co-found the rock band Wharf Street which he played in for about 9 years. He also played briefly in the R and B band Soul Source. Dave continues to maintain band websites and he enjoys creating band graphics. Dave contributed to a chapter on wedding bands in the book "Wedding Planning Advice from the Professionals" by Lisa Gibson.

Liam Arthurs

Liam Arthurs- Bass and Vocals

Liam is the most recent member to join Seacruze band and he brings a wealth of experience with him. Having started life surrounded by Irish jigs and reels, Liam graduated to blues and rock, which was standard fare near Newcastle, England. Liam shared jams, gigs and events with Northern Clubland budding stars such as John Miles, Brian Johnson, Hylton Valentine and Steve Jinski. Laim was a session bass player with the UK’s first independent record label, HolyGround, and worked with Bill Nelson who later played with BeBop deluxe. Arriving in North America in the 80’s, Liam began to focus on big band and jazz genres. Nowadays, he also plays with Victoria bands Queenie and the Groove Kings and The Coomdores Big Band and he is at home with many types of music including blues, funk, soul, jazz and rock.
